Carry- All

"Why do women need so many bags? "
"You have one."
"You put all your junk in it, and that's it."
"You're done."

Nate in Devil Wears Prada

Wrong Nate, you are so wrong.
Handbags serve many purposes. You have your everyday bag, the night out bag, the travel bag, the weekend bag, the "I don't care if it gets dirty bag", your first designer, and so many more.  I gathered a few handbags above, that I've been carrying the most recently. I usually end up carrying all of these bags in one month, since they all serve important duties. I'm slightly protective over my handbags. I'm a big advocate for dust bags, leather care kits, keeping certain bags away from the elements. I'm serious about these beauties. They're wearable pieces of art.

Hanging on my door is my Tory Burch Ella Tote, which is more of a weekend, travel, carry all. It's so spacious, I just love it. It carries everything from magazines, laptop, books, a cardigan, snacks etc.

On top of the pillow, is my Rebecca Minkoff Quilted Affair, this is my everyday bag. It serves as a cross body and a shoulder bag so it's very versatile, and fits all my daily essentials. I usually carry a small cosmetic bag, mini wallet or card case, a snack, my keys, sunglasses, and a tiny water bottle. It's a very deceiving bag, it looks small, but holds a lot.

At the bottom, is my Forever 21 cross body. I almost carry this as much as the Quilted Affair. It's definitely my "I don't care if it gets dirty" bag. It's super light, carries the basics, and is low maintenance. If I drop it or get it wet, it's no biggie. It can easily be wiped off. No dust bag required

Last but not least, is my Prada Saffiano Mini Double Zip Tote. This was my first major designer bag I purchased on my own. I believe in purchasing items that will last, and are timeless. It's fun to buy trends, but eventually you'll need substance pieces. It's a very chic reliable bag. It's not too big or too small, and fits a large majority of my items.
GUIDE
I made a little self help guide, showing what items you can fit in each bag!

Tory Burch Ella Tote: It holds all of the items above and probably more
Rebecca Minkoff Quilted Bag: Phone, headphones, keys, mini wallet or large wallet, snack bar, and small cosmetic pouch.
Prada Tote: Small notepad, mini or large wallet, phone, headphones, keys, snack bar, tiny water bottle,  iPad mini
Forever 21 Crossbody: Mini wallet, keys, snack bar, phone & headphones

So Nate's quote above, about handbags being a thing you "throw junk" in, is naive. Most of his opinions through out Devil Wears Prada are, but that's another story lol.
I'd like to close with another DWP quote from Andy's friend Doug, "Fashion is not about utility." "An accessory is merely a piece of iconography used to express individual identity."
So true Doug

Try Thakoon on for size

Hi everyone! Remember the Polyvore set I posted, featuring this jacket below? I promised to share the details about it soon, so here it is! This is my new Thakoon Addition JacketThakoon, was started in 2004, by designer Thakoon Panichgul, he was born in Thailand, raised in Omaha, and is currently based in New York. His design aesthetic focuses on innovative construction, with feminine spirt and elegance, but with a playfulness.

MORE DETAILS BELOW

I found this jacket a few weeks ago, during a designer sale. I wasn't searching for a jacket at the time, but it caught my attention in between the racks. It's definitely one of those gems you casually come across every now and then. It's a wool/leather blend, loose fitted, double breasted jacket. It has an asymmetrical double zipper, quilted leather in the front, zipped cuffs, and is fully lined.

It's a nice jacket to have on deck when you need the warmth of a coat, but not the burden of carrying one. In my opinion, you can never have too much outerwear, especially in Georgia where the weather is so topsy turvy.

CONT BELOW

I left early yesterday, to take the jacket out for a spin and take some snap shots for you guys. I wore my ripped black jeans, a black blouse, faux fur scarf, and over the knee boots. The jacket fits loose, but doesn't drape your body like it's too big/slouchy. It's a very flattering easy going piece. It's roomy enough to fit over sweaters without making you look stuffed, and you'll be twice as warm! I'd say its a very chic little number.

Brr..it's cold out here

Its been pretty obvious Jack Frost has been MIA, for a while. So when I woke up this morning and saw frost on my car and heard it was 29 degrees, I was very pleased.

FINALLY,  I could wear coats that have been longing.. to see the light of day since November! I grabbed my fuzziest coat, velvet leggings, my go to ankle boots, and greeted the below freezing temps.

                                                          OUTFIT DETAILS

My coat is from Macys , I bought it four years ago, and it's one of the warmest coats I own. It has a  faux fur trimmed hood, that keeps my head toasty from gust of arctic Georgia wind lol.

I wore my mom's white cable knit sweater, from Talbots, and paired it with velvet leggings I found at Kohl's from their Simply Vera Wang Collection

The boots are from Target, and are super comfortable. I bought them last year, but Target always has great ankle boots, so I'm sure you can find a similar pair. The heel is a great height, it's not too pointy or chunky. They're great if you're on your feet for a long period of time. I'm always running around at work, and these offer enough support and comfort, without compromising style.

And last but not least my handbag, The Quilted Affair, by Rebecca Minkoff, and sunglasses from H&M

It's a Quilted Affair

For Christmas, I decided to buy the Rebecca Minkoff, Quilted Affair handbag. If you have followed me on the blog or Instagram, you know my weakness is a black handbag, detailed with gold hardware. It's like my kryptonite. I've been eyeing The Quilted Affair for about two years. It's a great take on the Chanel Flap bag, but with its own Minkoff twist.

If you're saving for the classic Chanel Flap like I am, The Quilted Affair is perfect if you want the Chanel appeal, at a designer price that won't break your young adult budget. The Quilted Affair comes in three sizes; the mini $195, the large $295 & the jumbo $350.

I bought the large affair above, for $295, and it fits a regular or small wallet, keys, some cosmetics, and your tech gadgets. It doesn't hold a water bottle, but I'm pretty sure their jumbo size should lol.
It's a great everyday bag that I can wear as a cross body or a shoulder, and the the chain is adjustable! You can find the Quilted Affair at Rebecca Minkoff, Nordstrom, and Bloomingdales!
