The only jacket that matters

                                                                    THE LEATHER JACKET

The leather jacket, is probably one of the most iconic pieces in your closet.  Its been a staple of American fashion for generations, and it looks like it's going to stay that way. Leather jackets are versatile, classic, edgy, and perfect for layering. They come in various styles, leathers, and if you invest in the right one, it'll last you decades.  Sometimes, all you need is a good pair of jeans, a basic shirt, a buttery leather jacket, and you're good to go!

So whether you already have a jacket, or you're thinking about investing in one, here's a list of a few retailers where you can find the perfect leather jacket for your style and price range: TopshopMadewellNordstromMango, and H&M

Try pairing your jacket with a white button down, some distressed jeans, and sneakers! It's quick, easy, and pure Americana.

Off Duty

Hey guys! So I've been pairing outfits that will go with my new Thakoon Addition Jacket (on the right). I''ll post about it soon. I also really.... want this Gucci Soho Disco bag (on the left), it's been on my must have list for a while. Who knows, maybe sometime this year I'll add it to my handbag collection. Overall, the look I was going for was a casual, off duty, kind of feel.

I use Polyvore as a visual aid sometimes, to see whether or not an outfit or item works with my wardrobe. It's also a great way to kill time and it's a great hobby. Details about the pieces in this set, and where you can find them, are below!

Meeting with Karl

Georgia is currently under a winter storm watch, so I'm underneath the covers with my sketch pad. I was pondering what my next piece should be, when it hit me! What would a Millennial Fashion Socialite, Blogger, or Designer, wear to a business meeting with Karl Lagerfeld

So my inspiration for this sketch, was a lunch date with Karl. When meeting, or attending a function dedicated to a designer, it's polite to wear a piece from their collection. Therefore, my model is donning a black tweed Chanel suit, an immediate classic. Black goes with everything, it's sleek, elegant, Parisian, and very Karl. On the jacket's pockets and sleeves, I added a white tweed trim, carrying it onto the skirt's pockets. I paired the ensemble with patent leather ankle boots, and gave her a chic,  put together, top knot!  What do you think? Would Karl love it?

My inspiration: Chanel Ready -to-Wear

BAUBLEBAR FEVER

Have you heard of the jewelry site BaubleBar.com? To my surprise, a few people aren't familiar with it. GASP! I'm so addicted to this site, but if you haven't discovered this gem don't fret! I'm going to tell you all about it.

BaubleBar is an online jewelry site, that gives you access to the most coveted selection of chic fashion jewelry. They have everything from minimalistic chokers, to layering necklaces, to chunky cocktail rings. It's so captivating, the prices are perfect, the quality is great, and they partner with some of most notable people in fashion. You can revamp your jewelry box in seconds, and if you're a little stumped on how to layer a piece, they offer Service With Accessorizing Talent, aka their SWAT team. It's their group of stylist who are there to solve all of your accessorizing meltdowns. BaubleBar.com literally has every piece of jewelry you can think of for any occasion, or fashion preference.

One of the first items I purchased was this double pearl choker

I'm totally hooked. And although BaubleBar is an online retailer, they opened a store in the NY area. So if you're in the city, drop by and stock up on some chokers and midi rings!

Look out for my next post, where I'll debut my most recent BaubleBar purchase!

It's a Quilted Affair

For Christmas, I decided to buy the Rebecca Minkoff, Quilted Affair handbag. If you have followed me on the blog or Instagram, you know my weakness is a black handbag, detailed with gold hardware. It's like my kryptonite. I've been eyeing The Quilted Affair for about two years. It's a great take on the Chanel Flap bag, but with its own Minkoff twist.

If you're saving for the classic Chanel Flap like I am, The Quilted Affair is perfect if you want the Chanel appeal, at a designer price that won't break your young adult budget. The Quilted Affair comes in three sizes; the mini $195, the large $295 & the jumbo $350.

I bought the large affair above, for $295, and it fits a regular or small wallet, keys, some cosmetics, and your tech gadgets. It doesn't hold a water bottle, but I'm pretty sure their jumbo size should lol.
It's a great everyday bag that I can wear as a cross body or a shoulder, and the the chain is adjustable! You can find the Quilted Affair at Rebecca Minkoff, Nordstrom, and Bloomingdales!

Go to dainty

I just adore this Tory Burch necklace I received for Christmas. I love how understated the Tory logo is, it's so effortless and timeless. The Tory T's are dainty & elegant without being too obvious. Sometimes items overly adorned with a designer's logo, can be a bit too intense. (Don't you think?)

It's the perfect length, stopping right at my collar bone. It can be dressed up or down, and won't clash with other jewelry if you decide to layer. Oh, and it just shines beautifully! I've already recieved so many compliments!

BRAVO BALMAIN NATION!

www.vogue.in

At just 29, Olivier Rousteing has taken the fashion industry by storm, thanks to social media, a massive celeb following, and of course his talent & passion to unify the industry. I must say, he's doing a superb job. His hashtag, #BALMAINNATION has taken over social media like embellishments on a Balmain blazer.

On Tues night, his highly anticipated Balmain X H&M collection was revealed at a star studded launch party on Wall Street. The event included garments with embellishments galore, dances, music from The Backstreet Boys (I'll get to that awesome moment in a sec) & much more.

                                                             newyorktimes.com

Balmain "It" girls, Kendall Jenner, Jourdan Dunn, Gigi Hadid, & Karlie Kloss strutted their Baroque inspired pieces down the runway, while onlookers such as, Alexa Chung & of course, Kendall's lil sis Kylie observed. Each piece showcased the designer's attention to detail, with his placement of each stud, pearl, gold trim, & sequin.

                                                                THE AFTER PARTY

Once the last model made her exit, attendees were soon given an epic performance from one of Olivier's faves, The Backstreet Boys! Nick, Brian, Howie, Kevin, & AJ, arrived in true Backstreet style, down a flight of steps, while decked out in Balmain X H&M. They performed three of their many hits, while models, fashion bloggers, designers, etc completely lost it.

FYI: This was not a BSB "reunion'' they've been together 20+ yrs, never broke up, plus they JUST ended a world tour. That's pretty amaze.
